Everything you'd want to know, before you ask
Booking, deposits, comfort and recovery, answered plainly. Then the aftercare guides, written the way a clinician writes them: what is normal, what helps, and exactly when to call.
The practical bits
How do I book an appointment?
Send an enquiry on the contact page leaving your details, send a direct message on the Aesthetics by B Instagram page, or email aesthetics_by_b@hotmail.com.
Can I book a consultation?
A full consultation is carried out before any treatment, covering your options, possible side effects and your desired results. If you would like a discussion beforehand, email or message us on social media and we will happily answer your questions.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes, a £50 non-refundable deposit is required when booking your appointment.
Is there a cancellation policy?
If you amend or cancel at least 48 hours before your appointment, your deposit can be moved. If you fail to attend your appointment, the deposit is non-refundable.
Can I have dermal filler or anti-wrinkle injections if I am pregnant?
No. We cannot administer injectables to anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
Will my treatment hurt?
Your comfort matters to us. Topical anaesthetic is applied during the consultation process so the area is well numbed. If you still feel uncomfortable, we can stop the treatment and numb the area for longer.
What treatments do you offer?
See the Treatments page for every treatment we offer, with specific questions answered for each one.
Can I bring my children to my appointment?
We ask that you do not bring children to your appointment. If you bring a friend or relative, please keep it to one person so the clinic room is not crowded.
Do you have before and after pictures of your work?
Yes, head over to the Aesthetics by B Instagram page to see plenty of examples of Becky's work.
Recovery, written by a clinician
It is normal to experience some swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness post treatment. The intensity and duration will vary between individuals, but on average side effects can last up to two weeks after the treatment.
Dermal filler: do
- Take an antihistamine to help ease the swelling, as directed
- Ice the treated area intermittently
- Use arnica gel or tablets to help bruising settle faster
- Massage lips from two days after treatment, once a day for two weeks, to keep the filler soft and natural
- If you are prone to cold sores, apply a preventative cream to the lip area, as trauma to the lips can trigger an outbreak
- Travelling somewhere hot straight after treatment? Use a high SPF and keep your face out of direct UV
- For cheek, jaw and chin filler, sleep on your back for the first two nights to keep pressure off the areas
Dermal filler: don't
- No make-up on, or touching of, the treated area for 24 hours, to reduce the risk of infection
- No alcohol for 24 hours before and after treatment, as it can cause excessive bruising and swelling
- No ibuprofen or blood thinners for 48 hours post treatment, to prevent excessive bruising
- No massaging the area for 24 to 48 hours post treatment, as this can subtly change the filler placement
- No excessive sun or heat, such as sunbeds and saunas, for two weeks post treatment
- Avoid wearing glasses for two weeks if you have had nose filler
Dermal filler can take up to 14 days to heal fully. Throughout this time it can be normal to experience some asymmetry and lumps within the healing process; most lumps can be massaged out as the area settles. Please allow the full 14 days for the filler to settle, and if you feel there are any problems you would like to discuss, we can organise a review appointment to assess.
If you experience any symptoms such as pain in an area that has or has not been treated, or if the treated area or anywhere on the face looks pale, mottled or has a slow capillary refill, then contact Becky immediately to be assessed.
After your anti-wrinkle treatment
Provided to every anti-wrinkle client after their prescriber-led consultation and treatment.
- Stay upright for four hours after the treatment
- Book at least two weeks ahead of any planned event, and allow 21 days for the full effect
- After washing your face, pat dry gently with a clean towel
- An antihistamine and arnica gel can help any temporary tenderness, swelling or bruising settle
- Do not touch the treated area for at least four hours, and no make-up for 24 hours
- Do not rub or massage the treated area for two to three days, as this can spread the product to nearby muscles and affect your results
- Avoid extreme heat, sunbeds, saunas and steam rooms for two weeks after treatment
- Avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications before and after treatment, and no facials or similar beauty treatments for two weeks
Still have a question we haven't answered?
Ask it directly. Becky would rather answer twenty questions before a treatment than one worry after it.
