The Correction Clinic

The safe repair room for old filler

Filler placed elsewhere can migrate, lump or simply no longer suit you. The Correction Clinic exists to put that right: carefully, honestly and with a patch test before anything is dissolved.

Why filler misbehaves

It is more common than anyone admits

Over time, using different injectors who administer a variety of filler brands with different techniques can cause filler to migrate or turn into nodules and lumps. Tastes change too: you may simply no longer like the shape or size of your lips.

Sometimes the best decision you can make is to start over: dissolve the old filler, allow the area to heal, and only then place new filler where it should always have been.

No sensationalism, no blame. Just an honest assessment of what is there and what it will take to correct it.

The pathway

How correction works, step by step

Consultation and patch test

A thorough consultation and an intradermal sensitivity test are carried out before any treatment. Only once you are happy with the process and the test shows no sensitivity to the product do we go ahead.

The dissolving treatment

An enzyme called Hyaluronidase is injected into the chosen area. It causes hydrolysis, breaking down the synthetic hyaluronic acid while leaving your natural hyaluronic acid intact. The area is topically numbed first, so there is little discomfort, and full aftercare advice is given before you leave.

The two-week healing window

You wait a minimum of two weeks before refilling. This allows the body to completely clear the Hyaluronidase from the area; refilling sooner risks the new product being dissolved as well.

Reassess, and refill if you wish

Not everything is always removed in one session. Different fillers and different volumes behave differently, so we wait for the full result, assess honestly, and advise whether another session is needed before any new filler is placed.

Honest answers

Correction questions, answered plainly

What is used to dissolve filler?

An enzyme called Hyaluronidase is injected into the chosen area and causes hydrolysis, the breakdown of synthetic hyaluronic acid, leaving your natural hyaluronic acid intact.

Will all of the filler be removed in one treatment?

That cannot be guaranteed, because different fillers may have been used and the amount of product in the area varies. We advise waiting for the full result, then assessing whether another session is needed. Each session is £150.

How long until I can have filler back in those areas?

A minimum of two weeks, to allow the body to completely remove the Hyaluronidase from the area. Refilling any sooner risks the new product being dissolved too.

Does dissolving hurt?

The area is topically numbed before treatment, so there is little discomfort, and full aftercare advice is given before you leave the clinic.

Why a midwife's training matters here. Correction work is assessment work: recognising what a previous injector has left behind, judging tissue health and knowing when not to proceed. Ten years of NHS clinical experience is precisely the background you want making those calls.
